Mixed feelings here.

It starts off as a great article about magic and rationality and then sadly turns into a right-wing article about sleight of hand and belief systems halfway through.

Admittedly, the right-wing article could have been made immeasurably better by simply pointing out that the right are just as guilty as the left when it comes to these things - and the basic points are all good. It's just as shame I don't bump into articles as well written as this from a left wing point of view.

Anyone care to point me at some?

I don't think the left/right bias in articles is a problem - in this one, I read the author's 'right wing' points as examples and/or opinion and found that it didn't bother me that I don't agree with some of his particular analyses.

I don't find the above very clear, but do you catch my drift?

Fair enough. This guy doesn't quite do that, but others may well do something of the sort, and it would be annoying.
