I'm not sure which link Livejournal is objecting to, but the crosspost of
today's link post from DW to LJ is failing with a "There is a problem with
the content of your entry" message. As I'm at work, I can't do much about
this at the moment, so you'll just have to go here if you
want to read them. You should be able to comment there using your LJ url
(i.e. bobsmith.livejournal.com) as an OpenID.

If it does turn out to be one particular link, I'm betting on the one that mentions goatse...

I copied the HTML out of the Dreamwidth post and tried to post it as a private entry in my own LJ, and deleted links one by one until it stopped complaining. Apparently it's the Wolverine one.

The "blocking the RSS feed" part is nuts.

Fucking lj-abuse: Once again failing at "understanding basic internet". I mean, have they ever made any kind of a technological decision that *isn't* stupid?

(PS: If you add "www." to the link, it circumvents the idiot filter, and then the link resolves correctly at the far side again.)

Interestingly, I get staff discount on Toshiba LED light bulbs, but the highest output wide-distribution ones are 25W equivalent I think.

Hmm, they claim 30W equivalence from a 4.2W bulb? Toshiba claim 25W equivalence from an 8.4W LED.

Does your one have a quoted lumen output?

On one of their other bulbs they claim 220 lumens is 50W equivalent, which it isnt. A 100W incandescent bulb is about 1300-1500lumens, a 50W one is around 700-850 lumens.

No easy way to measure that I know..

couldn't you use a photographic light meter?

We have a sudden (but not urgent) need for a new fitting for the master bedroom. This has caused us to look at options, and one of the biggest hassles was finding packaging on traditional bulbs that provided lumens - the CFLs and LEDs did, and we didn't trust the 'conversions' provided.

My first thought was, "What, LJ doesn't like goats enymore?"

The game of thrones sequencing thing is good news. I'v e recently finished reading Vol 4 (A feast for crows) and ... it's slim pickings actually. Nothing much happens. There isn't 10 hours of quality viewing to be found in it.

That doesn't explain why he wrote it that way though. Successful author of saga in "needs editor to reign in excesses" shocker.

I've seen that. It explains things, but doesn't IMHO justify them.
