If you are crossposting from Dreamwidth to Livejournal then you might want people reading on LJ to know that there are comments waiting for them on the DW side.
The best way to do this is to go here, and place something like the following into the "Footer" box:
This will provide a footer like the one at the bottom of this post (if you're reading it on LJ), and means that when someone comments on DW the LJ readers can come over to see what it is.
You can leave the second box blank, unless you're disabling the comments on LJ.

Date: 2012-01-02 04:45 am (UTC)This is because LJ refuses to even consider the idea, despite it obviously driving traffic to them from elsewhere.
I found when I reworded my Xpost text a bit that commenting went up significantly, I currently have commenting on LJ tightly controlled but open on DW, if you directly encourage people to switch many will.

Date: 2011-12-31 12:52 pm (UTC)I wonder if you can advise me on style: I'm having trouble finding a DW style as plain as my own. Any suggestions?

and do a search for "Neutral Good" then you'll see my style, which is about as bland as you can get!

Date: 2012-01-02 04:47 am (UTC)I, personally, loath that sort of setup, but I know more'n a few prefer it, so I plan, when I get the willpower, to do a few very simple ones that're wide and column free. Essentially, there's a big pool of volunteers that like playing with themes, I'm, technically, one of them.
Give us a spec and it's doable, the DW styling system is a lot more flexible than LJs when you understand it, so most things are doable.
