The Porsche thing misses a bit though, from memory, a lot of the stock the funds were borrowing in order to short sell was owned by Porsche front companies, which was more than a bit dodgy, and some of what they were doing has now been banned because, well, it was only technically within the rules.

It is, however, a bloody good example I've used before on the "short selling is evil" lobby, as it's just another way of trading. And a perfectly legit one, really.
