A question you may be able to answer: Is there any good reason for why the SNP didn't vote for the full route in the first vote?

They've been against the trams since the very beginning, so I assume that they were just washing their hands of it all.

to jump slightly in here:
the SNP didn't think anyone would be stupid enough to vote for a Haymarket termination, so didn't bother to vote at all. Being Anti-tram, this makes quite a lot of sense.

However, given that's what happened, the SNP are faced with allowing a 'solution' that's considerably worse than they expected - to the extent that backing the alternative is the only say so proceed.


I'm sure most people have been in situations where they must do something they don't want to, purely because watching other people fuck it up is so much worse. Happens to me all the time.

Aye, that's fair enough. I was curious 'cause of not knowing of their anti-tramness, thus from the story it seeming that they'd abstained then voted for it, and none of the faffing about would've happened if they'd just voted for it in the first place.

quick question:
given the eerily similar paths of the tram tracks and the Airport Bus service, what makes trams a better idea than that service?
the buses are lovely and run every 7 minutes

having used the service quite a lot of late [having a partner that lives in Berlin], I struggle to envisage a reason to use trams instead.


I am, of course, aware of no reason you should have an answer or even an opinion on this
