Tech demo for CryEngine 3. Damned impressive.

I know that cars and shininess are now a solved problem, but the trees are pretty damned awesome.

I remember CGA. This is better than that.

VERY interesting. Quite similar to the Mach Studio Pro renderer I'm using right now, although the fact that CryEngine can do direct stream between your 3D package or mocap rig and the renderer is extremely shiny.

I suspect it'll have a 100k pricetag, though.

Damn I need to get some games again. (And also the time to play them occasionally...)

Remind me where you got your gaming PC from? You sounded pretty pleased with it at the time.

90% of gaming PCs in 2011 still can't cope with CryEngine1, let alone the new tech. It doesn't say what hardware that's running on, but the rival Unreal Engine tech that was demoed at the same show was shown on THREE GTX580s running in triple-SLI. That's £1,200 just on graphics cards!

CGA! You were lucky! <\montypython>

Our 086 had a green screen. And I remember playing Xenon II on it!

Now, if only I had the hardware to play Crysis 2 with all the toys turned up... Heck I can barely play Crysis 1 on my current hardware :)
