When's the TouchPad due for preview/release?

Because what I've seen of that makes me shout "want", whereas iPads still look, well, like Apple products.

Oh, the jews not guilty thing is news because it was the Vatican Council before, and that's Not The Pope. Oh, and he's got a book coming out and it's good publicity.

Yeah, I thought the publishers would be putting a gun to GRRMs head to get that fricking book finished in time to sell copies off the back of the upcoming tv series. I would wager TUESDAY, JULY 12, 2011, is just about when the HBO series reaches its climax.

The Motorola Xoom looks pretty darn good. My only complaint is that it's substantially (around 100 gm) heavier than the iPad. The 10.1" Samsung Galaxy Tab looks like it's exactly the same weight as the iPad, so when it comes out in a month, I'm guessing it will be the tablet to have.

I know. Apple definitely have the advantage of owning the whole supply chain, and mass production, so they can make theirs cheaper than most other companies.

But you wouldn't have thought it would take everyone else so long to make something comparable.

I've been accused of fanboiism many a time re iPad. Keep having to remind people that I have no intention to buy one.

I'm actually very disappointed that MS killed the Courier, which would have been a worthy challenger early on. All we have now is a bunch of inferior copies.
The irony, of course, is that by trying to copy Apple those companies doom themselves to lack of production parts.
I'd wager a guess that the Galaxy exists because the screen size was available.

Yeah - right now the iPad is the only Tablet worth having (although the Galaxy Tab sounds pretty good if you want a 7" one rather than a 10" one).

Not getting one myself, though. Even if there was an equivalent Android one I can't justify spending cash on a Tablet in addition to a laptop.
