Take 1 room with a horrible damp-filled cat-puke-stained carpet of awfulness:


Add a large pile of flooring:


Chop to fit:


Lay close to newly bricked-up fireplace:


Ensuring that everything is moved out of the way while you do so:


Observe that it all looks rather nicer now:

I bleeding well hope so.

Still a bit of painting to go, and the joiner has to sort out the join between the living room and the hall, because it's not quite connected up right.
