I'm reminded of an apocryphal quote for which I have no reference:
Q: "What did God do before he created the universe?"
A: "Think up punishments for people who asked awkward questions."

My favourite answer to this question is one which I saw once in a humorous LJ written as if it were the diary of God. One outstanding entry read something along the lines of:

April 30. Last night I made this absolutely HUGE rock, and I couldn't move it. But then I moved everything else back and forth so it looked like I could.

I win.
