Headless photo of fatties alert for that last link!

I wonder what the reaction would be if all other 'health' articles were illustrated with headless photos - because being other than supposed 'healthier' norm is so shameful, it's important to dehmanise all representations of such.

I intermittently have lunch at a place that does a great fried breakfast, including a slice of black pudding and a slice of haggis.

I've never had a deep-friend black pudding supper though - I've never really liked it in large quantities.

So is the UberCab article basically say "woohoo unlicenced random people can be taxi drivers?"

Because while the rest of the article is theoretically a neat idea, that's not.

Of course, it also saddens me that people are so used to an instant-gratification progress-bar focussed culture that they need such things and feel they're lacking elsewhere.

Unlicensed people can already be taxi drivers. They just can't be flagged down in the street, they have to be called directly. This just simplifies the process.

You've been pro-safety culture before around taxis and suchlike, in years past.

Have you changed that opinion, then?

Nope, still pro-safety. I can see that a ratings system makes things somewhat safer - and it'd be easier to trace the cab driver you'd called, because there'd be records. But it's not as safe as having a criminal records check, or whatever.

I was merely pointing out that this wasn't any different, on some levels, from what you could already do. Just more efficient.
