Date: 2010-07-28 11:02 pm (UTC)I was amused by the idea that users found it more efficient than using Google Street View, but only in as much as it felt like an artificial comparison ("Here, look for a shop front on Street View. Now try Street Slide. What do you mean you got bored of fiddling with a load of pictures and just Googled it?").
I suppose it's a nice variation on a theme, but not really bringing anything that's missing.

Date: 2010-07-29 12:20 pm (UTC)... and in terms of having an additional view when navigating, having a better idea of where to turn (2nd intersection after the McDonalds) then I can see this sort of thing being very useful.
But I don't like the way they are playing with perspective in either view, and would like something a little more like CoolIris for translating along a street.
