When I had my appendix out, they wouldn't even let me see it.

When this kid get a new heart, he gets to play with the old one.

Cool pic tho.

5 LJ users you've known, in person or online, the longest:

Well, [livejournal.com profile] drainboy and [livejournal.com profile] stenchpuppy are my brothers, but neither of them has updated in ages, so I'm not sure they count.

Which would leave [livejournal.com profile] kpollock (12 years), [livejournal.com profile] wordofblake (11 years or so), [livejournal.com profile] broin (8 years), [livejournal.com profile] spidermonster (7 years), [livejournal.com profile] johnbobshaun (7 years) and [livejournal.com profile] spaj (7 years).

4 LJ users you talk to online
Well, it's an unusual day when I don't chat to [livejournal.com profile] mab and [livejournal.com profile] rainstorm. I catch up with [livejournal.com profile] dapperscavenger one day in two, and [livejournal.com profile] tisme on a fairly constant basis (even if she's only on the other side of the room).

3 LJ users you've talked to on the phone:
I don't use the phone much, but
[livejournal.com profile] purelyskindeep and I call to arrange things.
[livejournal.com profile] tisme at least twice a day, if not 6 times.
[livejournal.com profile] dapperscavenger to make sure she's turning up to things.

2 LJ users you adore:,
[livejournal.com profile] tisme
I don't think there's anyone else I adore, although I like an awful lot of them an awful lot.

1 LJ user you wished you talked to more:
[livejournal.com profile] garthmyl because I always enjoy it whenever I do, but usually find myself stuck for ways to begin conversations.

Lib Dems will slash ministries says this article. They want to implement fairly radical decentralisation, but back on the bureaucracy and make local government more central to local decisions.

The List of Arguments

10. ARGUMENT FROM CREATION

(1) If evolution is false, then creationism is true, and therefore God
exists.
(2) Evolution can't be true, since I lack the mental capacity to
understand it; moreover, to accept its truth would cause me to be
uncomfortable
(3) Therefore, God exists.

11. ARGUMENT FROM FEAR

(1) If there is no God then we're all going to die.
(2) Therefore, God exists.

13. ARGUMENT FROM INTELLIGENCE
(1) Look, there's really no point in me trying to explain the whole
thing to you stupid atheists -- it's too complicated for you to
understand. God exists whether you like it or not.
(2) Therefore, God exists.

17. PARENTAL ARGUMENT

(1) My mommy and daddy told me that God exists.
(2) Therefore, God exists.

18. ARGUMENT FROM NUMBERS

(1) Millions and millions of people believe in God.
(2) They can't all be wrong, can they?
(3) Therefore, God exists.

The cynical part of me wants to put up a poll regarding the news piece just below, so that people can then tick boxes marked "I'm sorry to hear that.", "If you need to talk you know where to find me.", "*hug*" and suchlike.

Thankfully, the more reasonable part of me knows that these words, while common and expected, are merely the conveyors of actual emotion.

And really, I do appreciate it.

Warren Ellis pointed me towards this twisted little love story.

Back from dinner (was lovely - Khi/Bekka hadn't heard the news, so me and Erin didn't say anything and played nice all evening). Rather nice, and I must eat at Frankensteins again, if only for the desserts. The decor is fabulous, and the tv showing the original movie on loop was a nice touch.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words. Love you all.

Night!
