i know some people who did *programming* for grand theft auto, and the only difference as far as i can tell is that the programmers get free coffee. (end enough money to buy austrailia every month)

Not even the latter, from the friend I know who was on the programming team. At least not unless you're a founder.

I did testing twice, (14" tv's, crappy headphones, playing GTA4 without pizza and booze), and know most of the coding team. I was kept away from the scripting team as I knew the cupboard where the Swingers baseball bat was kept. Fuckin scripters.
