Good grief, that's a lot of alcohol.

But the answer isn't minimum pricing. Heck no, what we need is rationing.

At least that way those of us who don't meet our quota can turn a profit on the black market selling ours ;)

What we need is to see why it is that people's lives are so shit that they need to drink so much to make it bearable.

the equivalent of 537 pints

That's just over 10 pints per week. Or one-and-a-bit per day.

Or below the recommended minimum amount of alcohol you should be drinking for health purposes, especially forstalling heart conditions and similar.

Scotland isn't drinking enough. Aren't statistics wonderful?

The problem is of course binge drinkers, and the point that a huge chunk of adults barely drink at all, meaning others drink lots and lots, but these numbers aren't problematic, it's just political spin by stats inumerate politicos.

The stats are based on what is being bought. Maybe there's lots of Scots laying down a good cellar?
