The Religious Discrimination act also covers more general philosophical beliefs.

It's now being used to defend a young lady who was turned down for a position in social work because of her "sexual lifestyle" and a person who was turned down for a position as a magistrate when it turned out he was interested in BDSM.

Looks like the churches might have opened the floodgates here...

What about the even more murky intersection of 'race' and religion, as seen recently in the case of the Jewish child who wasn't Jewish enough because his mother had converted to the wrong brand of Judaism?

Sikhs and Jews are defined as racial groups, such that if I were to convert to Sikhism I would thereby presumably be classed as a different race - I would no longer be 'white'

Weird...
