The managing director of the divining rod company should be forcibly trained up on his own device and then made to go clear a minefield just to prove his device works.
Scratch that, anyone working to market them or train people in their use could go too.
In no way would I condone such a tragic loss of human life. . . . except in this case I would laugh.

It does strike me as a suitable deterrent for future salesmen.

Same with pollution - all drinking water in factories should be taken from local water supplies downstream of the factory...
