Over here Warren Ellis talks about a script he wrote on his way back from the worst convention ever.  He links to the Wikipedia article for WinCon, so I followed that link, only to discover that the article now contains the text "Ellis described the 1999 convention as "probably the worst convention I ever attended." - with the link going back to the article I'd just come from.

Sometimes the internet feels like a great big conversation.  With all the good and bad things that that entails.

Indeed. I'm fairly sure I was at the 1999 one, and it was at least as good as any of the other unicons I've been to. Ah, maybe that's it: had Ellis been to a unicon-type con before?
