Odd perceptions of me
Mar. 25th, 2008 10:41 pmThere seems to be a perception that I avoid lots of food due to allergies, and always have an upset stomach.
I remember having an upset stomach once in the last few months, and the only thing I can think of that I avoid because it causes problems is sugar. I also avoid cheese, wine, beer and nuts - but in all of those cases it's because I don't like the taste (well, I'm slowly acclimatising to red wine). Oh - I avoid caffeine purely because I don't drink it often and therefore it works well on me, but that's not an allergy, I just like my sleep. I'll happily down diet coke when I'm out dancing.
In the interests of checking my sanity, can anyone tell me of any allergies I'm unaware of? Or point out an occasion when I've been complaining about my stomach?
Oh - thought of one - there's something in orange squash that makes me feel slightly odd, but I haven't had any in so long that it doesn't register.

Date: 2008-03-26 01:49 am (UTC)You do complain of minor problems with your body quite a lot - more bleeriness and minor colds in my experience than stomach things. I don't think it's because you're particularly sickly, or hypochondriac, I think it's because you constantly analyse your pyhsical state at an unconscious level and then over analyse any slight flaws or deviations you detect - you;re a bit like a wi fi dev ice constantly scanning for networks! Whereas most of us only really notice/mention our physical state if it's actually giving us a reasonable amount of discomfort as opposed to simply deviating more than normal accepted tolerance from the norm. It's all to\do\with your head being too big:-)

Date: 2008-03-26 12:44 pm (UTC)Like may of my friends, you post when you're feeling snuffly with a cold, but not with any greater frequency than the rest of us; to me it shows that you find illness irritiating. Can't recally tummy related issues recently....

Date: 2008-03-26 06:22 pm (UTC)There's nothing wrong with being a hypochondriac and going on about every minor feeling of "wibbliness" as I think you put it.
Like I said in your other post, I'm aware of you going on and on about caffeine (ad nauseum), sugar, wheat, chocolate, alcohol and their effects.
(luv u really, btw, not having a go)
