Useful for family IT Support
Jan. 13th, 2008 08:07 pmI needed to set up some stuff on my Dad's PC, and struggled to find a solution for letting me take control of his machine from a distance that wouldn't require some know-how on his behalf, or the opening of ports, etc.
And I came across Show My PC, which appears to be a version of VNC, bundled with a nice wrapper around it, plus some internet servers to bounce the signal off of, for those people that are behind NAT at both ends, and a session ID generator, to stop you having to worry about IP addresses and similar.
Worked like a dream, first time, and got me up and running within 30 seconds of downloading it.
