Date: 2007-07-03 08:10 am (UTC)For me, it takes constant attention to not hit the celings/corners (cos rollers are round and corners are right angle), make sure I am covering evenly (bit not excessively) etc, etc. (Even with woodwork and other immovable obstacles like sockets masked off or removed entirely). But maybe the pain is my own fault cos I think large brushed 'borders' look cr@p.
Even gloss-painting skirtings/door surrounds like I did last night, though much much better, *still* demands a fair bit of attention to do an acceptable job (though the amount of hair+fluff that made its way in (despite prep) was horribly depressing)

Date: 2007-07-03 11:25 am (UTC)oh yeah 2nd coat rocks. always looks sh*t after one. Well except if you are really good. Which some people are. And with no masking and no mess.
I feel this pressure to be able to do it like that. Go on, point stare and laugh at the perfectionist :-)
