Well, to be accurate, I'm off to see Neil Gaiman, Tanith Lee, China Miéville and Charles Stross. And to be even more accurate, I'm doing so at next year's EasterCon, which I've just booked a place at.

Should you be thinking "But what's an Eastercon, and why would I be interested?" then take a look at this year's programme to see if there's anything that might attract you.

Colour me jealous as hell. Dammit, why couldn't I have been born filthy rich? Why?

Perhaps we should start another fan fund--for WisCon and EasterCon. I'd run. TAWFF (or perhaps TAFFF for Feminist Fan Fund) and TAEFF...

actually I think that'd have rather more point than some FFs :-)

I've considered standing for TAFF, but I was gafiated for a while and it's been many years since I pubbed my ish... or have the rules on that changed? I may think about it after having been back in fandom for a while. I'd love to make it back over there someday.

Ach. The above was kind of a side thought and then I forgot to write down the main thought, which was that the nature of the funds does seem to have changed over the years. Maybe it's partly the rise of forums like LJ and blogs that make old-fashioned zines seem less necessary, or maybe that it's because I've been out of it for a while and am just not plugged into the zine scene very much anymore.

WisCon is an amazing convention and it just keeps getting better.

Damn. I'm busy. Really busy.

And far away.

Woe is me. O still my tears of regret and pangs of um, something.

;-)

I'm kinda concerned they've left the discussion about what Eastercon is to the second day. Surely either you'd want it first, or not at all?
