Guess I'm the half of LJ that wasn't paying attention. I didn't notice anything other than having to log in again, which didn't seem too unusual. Oh I see now what they mean about the subdomains... they changed our page URLS. How about that.

Oh but really, strict password policies my friggin ass!!!! They implemented another one at work that really irked me. And the funny thing is, they list 15 rules about what isn't allowed, basically *anything* that would let you create a password which you could remember, and then #16 is "Make your password something easy to remember". They suggest that you think up a phrase, take the initial letters, and replace some with numbers and special symbols. Yeah, right. ::head explodes::

Oh, but you're not allowed to have a number like 123 and you're missing a special symbol.

Oh, and in the case of our Host passwords, it can only be 8 characters anyway. And the host only allows 2 special symbols in passwords, so basically each host password now has to contain one of those 2 symbols... isn't that a bit daft?!!!

AND...!!! If you enter your Host password wrong 3 times, your account is disabled anyway! So wtf point is there of having such a strict password policy in the first place? You are much more likely to disable your own account than someone else is to guess your password in 3 tries! Did I mention I was a bit irked? LOL

I imagine if I had a suck-ass password, I would've noticed the panic. That said, time to change my s00per-s3kkr1t password to something else.
