I read documents quickly, skipping back and forth over them, picking out a few snippets and moving on.  This is particularly true of technical documents.  I'm impressed that large companies are now producing video and audio documents to fill me in on their latest and greatest doings.  But the information in them could frequently be digested in about 3 minutes at my reading speed - and I'm just not going to spend half an hour watching a broadcast for that 3 minutes-worth.

I'd kill for a version of these that had a transcript, allowing me to go to the video at any point in the transcript, if there was something I decided I wanted to see.  But mostly there isn't, because I don't need to see a geek in a chair to understand what they're talking about.

I know what you mean - wading through marketing speak and spin is bad enough when it's text that you can skip through, when it's a near-naked woman explaining some very basic concept with lots of smiles to you, it's unbearable!
