Global Frequency
Jun. 11th, 2005 01:19 pmWarren Ellis produced a nice little comic called Global Frequency. 12 issues, each with a different artist, around the idea of thousands of on-call specialists available to deal with some of humanities least tractable problems around the world.
It got picked up to be made into a TV series, and then canned after the pilot was made (see the producer's comments here - well worth a read).
You can now get the pilot on BitTorrent. I plan to watch it this weekend, because everyone I know who's seen it loves it.
Ya never know - with enough publicity, it might even make it to the screen...

They did change the central thing I liked about the comic and make it a clone (a very shiny and good and better clone, but a clone nonetheless) of every post X-files show, however.

Date: 2005-06-12 09:53 am (UTC)It's very nicely done and the concessions for TV don't get in the way too much. Sad though it is I'm physically restraining myself from sampling the GF ringtone to use on my mobile.
