Anyone recommend an online gaming news site. I'm fed up with paying for magazines (except for Edge, which has good enough journalism to be worthwhile) but I'm not convinved I'm looking at the right websites...

Rob used to swear by Gamespot. For reviews I just look at metacritic, which gives me a decent range of opinions and includes snippets from magazines (including Edge).

Well, I get some of my news from insert credit, although they mostly do homebrew shooters and the like; not very 'mainstream' at all. I read them more for their reviews and articles than news, though.

Depending on the type of game that interests you, I know that Shannon frequents both RPG.net (http://www.rpg.net) (which does not just focus on role-playing games) and boardgamegeek (http://www.boardgamegeek.com) (which does not just focus on board games).

But you're probably looking for FPS and other such computer games -- yes? -- which are discussed at both sites but not in enough volume that it's probably really what you're looking for.
