[Poll #442267]

i.e. if I google for Andrew Ducker then I'm top. [livejournal.com profile] catamorphism thinks this is fairly common - so I'd like to find out how many of you are...

I'm at least the top 10 entries. Didn't feel like continuing looking. But I've been online a long time, published things, been involved in somewhat interesting internet law, etc. Leaves footprints.

Define "I am the top entry"? I'm not, but an article I wrote is.

It changes, though. When I first searched for my name on the web, I was the only Steve Glover to appear. Then there was the spammer internet marketeer (which caused problems when an interviewer thought I was that one), then the French teacher, and then the chemist. The musician, the accountant and the guy from Jackass all turned up at the same time about two or three years ago, but thanks to the power of the blogosphere, I'm back on top!

For now, anyway....

I do tend to ping pong back and forth with some university professor, but yes I've been the top Steve Davies on Google pretty much since it was in beta (out of 1,290,000 hits for Steve Davies).

Yes, but narrowly followed by a poet, a baronet (who composes organ music, and is the grandson of an eminent architect), and a management consultant of some sort.

In fact, I'm the only person with my name mentioned anywhere on the Web, except for some Montessori school teacher in Massachusetts who didn't appear until recently, and who I resent GREATLY.

I'm the only entry. As far as I know I'm the only person in the world with my first-and-last-name combination (it's quite likely, as most people with the surname are German, and Kate isn't a German name).

My fellow Rich Furmans are a Poet and a Social Worker, both of whom outrank me by a good bit.

I'm top of the list under one of my names and second under the other.
Quite a surprise given that none of my names are unusual.

If I google for my first and married last name, I'm the only result.

If I google for my first and maiden last name, I get outranked by my alter ego, who seems to be a real estate agent with a really aggressive internet marketing plan.

Heh, out of boredom I searched for my old nickname and maiden name. I haven't found myself yet, but I have found some interesting namesakes, like:

"Sandy Geary, black, was accidentally shot and killed in a saloon on Beale Street in Memphis, January 15, 1876."

Even with my middle name (Thorley) I can't find myself on the first page of results. I'm just too common, apparently ...
