The author of 2. is clearly not brilliant at paying attention to their nose(s). Most of this is quite observable in one's own body. Especially the switching sides and the erectile effect (at the appropriate times...).

One thing not mentioned that happens to me. I get (very mild) hot flushes, usually in the evening/night - nasal congestion also increases just before it happens and then is relieved exactly as the flush itself strikes.

Most people are *terrible* at paying attention to their bodies.

I only noticed a couple of years ago that nasal blockage was mostly swelling, not getting gummed up.

#1 = My gosh, what a reminder of how dang good 'Jaws' [the movie] was. Excellent movie and absolutely an example of a movie better than the book it was based on.
