If there isn't something for them to get upset over who gets it first then they aren't bad If either seems to be getting even slightly prioritised over the other then it's war.
I feel very lucky that, for my two kids with my first wife (they're still living together), and also with R.'s two kids (living with us now), everybody always gets along just fine, pretty much. Sure, my two exasperate each other sometimes but, at worst, they're still civil. I think it helps that, in both cases, at least one of them is obliging and easygoing.
They aren't *terrible*. But Gideon clearly frustrates Sophia by insisting on being younger than her. And I think life is easier when he has friends his own age.
