Finally tried Gideon out on a board game. He had fun, and we caught the villainous fox.

He is!

He has a friend with long hair and decided he wanted hair like that.

I find it amusing that a friend inspired him to grow out his hair, and not his sister, who has been on that project for quite some time!

It is. We've had to have several conversations with Sophia after she made declarations about what girls could or could not do.
