I am sceptical that Labour's plans to "build build build" will actually produce a reduction in homelessness. Certainly the 150,000 homes that they want to build around Cambridge apear to be targeted at the people who already have homes and jobs but whom they want to incentivise to move to Cambridge. Our water deprived area doesn't need more executive houses, we need (as noted in the article) more social housing. And not the "affordable housing" which at up to 80% of market rents is not affordable to people who actually need it.
