Date: 2024-11-16 11:11 pm (UTC)3rd link misses the most obvious argument, that the comparison should not be between EVs and ICEs, but between EVs and hybrids. To substantially improve efficiency, you only need enough battery for regenerative braking. You'll accelerate soon after braking, so there's no need for the battery to be big.
If you go EV all the way, you have to carry all the chemistry with you all the time, increasing tire and road wear. A hybrid on average only carries around half a tank of gas, and does not carry any oxygen at all.
