FPS games are not typically my style, but free is definitely in my price range. Thanks for the heads up. I'll be sure to grab it on Steam later today.

Black Mesa, the fan-made remake of the original Half-Life is currently discounted to £4. So if you fancy following the plot all the way through then that might be worthwhile.

3rd link misses the most obvious argument, that the comparison should not be between EVs and ICEs, but between EVs and hybrids. To substantially improve efficiency, you only need enough battery for regenerative braking. You'll accelerate soon after braking, so there's no need for the battery to be big.

If you go EV all the way, you have to carry all the chemistry with you all the time, increasing tire and road wear. A hybrid on average only carries around half a tank of gas, and does not carry any oxygen at all.

Yeah, hybrids don't really seem to have caught on - I don't know enough about the situation to know why, but it would seem to solve the range anxiety and charging time issues if you have that to fall back on.

#3: I couldn't resist the silly misreading of the title. If someone is even trying to handle an EV at the dinner table then your dinner is in big trouble :-)

Ah, I was thinking of "handling" in the sense of things like handbrake turns, rather than maintenance. Crockery and food everywhere.
