It's not really bad, though is it? It's only bad in some contexts at some times. As the article points out, batteries are a solution.

Yeah. If the grid is saying "Here's free electricity - but we'll pay for electricity in three hours!" then that sends a massive signal to anyone who can shift electricity around, or who might be able to with a bit of investment.
