2. You need a bigger better version of your FFS tag for this one! With much more swearing. Ultra unbelievable. (Except it's not, I believe it).

I do think this is pretty much PRECISELY why there is NO SUCH THING as home schooling here in Germany. (Cos there were, and sadly are again, or still, such fuckwits here too)

The 'no home schooling' law is there for a reason in Germany, but it's Hell for kids affected by bullying in a school with ineffective staff: parents can't withdraw them and the only option is to emigrate.

Some do, there was a German-speaking community on the Isle of Wight for this very reason, before Brexit.

well that's sad, of course, for those kids. I can't recall we had any other solution in Scotland in the 70s and 80s than to get transferred to another school.

I don't have a feel for the payoff of indoctrination/isolation by controlling parents vs bullying risks of mandatory school. Of course there's a cogent argument for school itself being indoctrination into being an obedient worker for the capitalist grindmill...

I am glad I only have a teenage cat!

1. It feels like it's okay to not go there right now. We've got so much else going on re: installation of solar capacity at the moment. Also, other methods of dealing with cars, trucks, etc. are making more progress.

2. This is both expected and another WTAF news item.
