They do crowns on first teeth now?

Who knew?

Thankfully our own dentist managed to keep things going throughout which was a relief even if they looked like military chemical warfare clearer uppers!

I was surprised too. I think my sister just got fillings. I never had any noticeable tooth decay as a child, so I can't say for sure. I would not be surprised if in 70s Glasǵow they just yanked them out...

The problem with fillings for small kids is that they will not hold still at that age. So it's a deeply unpleasant experience for everyone. And yanking them out is a bad idea because they're holding space for the adult teeth to come into.

Whereas a painless experience that solves the problem in ten minutes is faster, cheaper, and easier than fillings or yanking teeth out.

I have a crown on one of my molars, and fitting it was a lengthy and unpleasant experience. I'm glad it was better for Sophia.

Yeah, the new process where they basically slap some glue on the crown and stick it on (in about 10 seconds) is definitely better than things used to be!

Is that just for children or do adults get this new process as well?

From reading the article it looks like it's only intended for baby teeth, as it's only tested for lasting a few years. I do wonder if it'll be tested for longer use.

If it's a game then it's an expensive one, and not a lot of fun!

My youngest (5 years old) has been going to the dentist every 6 months since she was 2 and she still got two crowns placed after last visit since they finally did x-rays and saw cavities between two back teeth. Her teeth looked perfectly fine just looking at them and we always brush. So it is a guessing game sometimes and not always prompt dentist visits. Good thing these will fall off in five years and hopefully new permanent teeth will be good for both our kids.

The party death was soooo bad that the Conservatives even lost official party status (they only had two seats left) and didn't get offices in parliament.

But Conservatives are like the killer in a horror movie - never dead enough. Preston Manning brought them back, worse than ever:

So, the UK party may be in disarray, but that means the real power brokers are even now creating something new with which to con.
