1. I can't say I believe that it ever went away although having the swine knocking doors and spending 24/7 bullying people into suicide at least here in the UK seems to have ceased with Lucy Meadows' death in 2013.

It's part of the reason most folks of my generation aren't out and loud and proud- just occasionally the young'uns need to take a step back and recall what we were put through and why just blending in seemed like a very good idea.

3. My respect for William Shatner has gone way up. My respect for Jeff Bezos hasn't gone down, because there's nowhere further down for it to go.

4. There are two groups of people whose interest it is to blur the distinction between criticism of Israel and criticism of Jews. The one, described here, is those who wish to unfairly smear their opponents as anti-Semitic. But the other is anti-Semites who wish to disguise their prejudice. Now what we need is an absence of the blurring of that distinction.

5. Now that's creepy. (Actually pretty much my reaction to 1 and 2 also.)

6. Bah. If he had really wanted to highlight the plight of women with large families, he could have left his money to the woman who'd had the most children in the ten years before his death.
