One of the Pleistocene Exile books had the Mediterranean basin filling rapidly. I don't know whether it was established science when it was written.

Julian May was one of the few science fiction authors who included geology as part of the science in her fiction, and did a good job with it.

Salt layer 2 -miles- thick! Boggles the mind. And yeah - I remember the Julian May book - and sounded like a truly awesome historical event.

In my lifetime, Canada's had PMs that I've been annoyed by, frightened and angered by as much as shamed by, and at least two that I have felt...safer with. In terms of "safer with", I would include Justin Trudeau, despite voting against his party across the years. Especially during these past two years.

It can still happen for the UK.
