Do you notice how suddenly there's support for 'trans women' (I think they mean post operative transsexual women as the term once was because that's who many people are thinking of when they think of us at all) when they think we can be used to create division within the LGBT umbrella as potential 'victims' of those who self identify?

Changes to the GRA will leave us with 'no safe space' eh?

None of us, cis or trans, had any safe space out there before Sarah Everard's murder and I don't think their hatemongering is going to change that much. I had to look over my shoulder before and I don't think that's going to change in a hurry.

They have no paywall, but they do elegant guilt-tripping by telling me how many of their articles I've read.

I will have to make a point of...what's the phrase where you're trying to get someone who's otherwise behaving very well to Stop Doing Very Specific Stupid Shit these days? Is it "calling your people in"? Whatever the phrase is, it seems proper for what we've got to do about the Guardian at the moment re: trans rights.

I'm a socialist of the old left and when I was younger I read the Guardian but they started alienating me and people like me about thirty years back and they really can't be affording to do that given the state traditional print media is in.

Ironically, I have a historical side interest in the history of diurnals, newssheets, mercuries and newspapers and they have always seemed to be very slow to learn not to do this
