This is a page of photos of female celebrities in makeup and out. Some of them are still pretty cute, but it's interesting to note that there are a lot of people that are that cute.

Very interesting. In maybe 2/3s of the pics I looked at the primary difference seemed to be between high and (very) low quality photos - a bad photo can make anyone look unattractive and some of those photos did. However, in the cases where this wasn't true, the differences were still fairly striking. A large number of these celebrities looked no more attractive than perhaps 20% of the people one sees walking by on the street.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Anne Heche, for instance, had two pictures that looked like they came from a movie, but one had her in a shower scene. The one from Madonna was so grainy it made her look like she had a beard. It made me feel like they were cheating a little bit.

Still, an interesting site, though.

Plus the ones where the "with" pic is from 10-20 years ago & the "without" is more recent. So, somebody at say 50 doesn't look quite as gorgeous as she did at 30. So, ummm.. Yeah? Time does that to all of us.

It's kind of alarming that the "without" pictures are supposed to look unattractive, whereas, with the exception of the ones which are distorted and grainy, they actually don't look bad by any normal human standards.
Artificial airbrushed "perfection" (as defined by the fashion industry) is a ridiculous thing for anyone to aim at - apart from anything else it's entirely static poses, and you can't live your life standing still and constantly wearing a fixed "good" expression.
