Colour me surprised they failed to achieve a pie-in-sky-solution of a border that both is and isn't a border! But of course, they thought being Britain, we could merrily defy reality, didn't they?

2. Seems both flattering and insulting to Scottish folk at one go, doesn't it?

I do remember quite well that although British Rail had its problems before John Major took an axe to it, the ticketing system in particular was working smoothly and it was easy to buy tickets for where you wanted to go. It's taken over twenty years for them to accept that the current system is useless. What they are proposing has got to be better, hasn't it?

I'd really hope it was an improvement! Unifying the ticketing system definitely seems like a good idea.
