Date: 2021-04-01 11:56 am (UTC)It can't be a Labour Party lead campaign to rejoin the EU - they will get mullered at the next election. And the English re-join campaign can't and won't really kick off until after the next election. All that happens if Labour mention rejoining the EU in the next 5 years is that they lose the next election.
When the dust has settled and a re-join campaign has properly started up and proven popular the Labour Party might well find itself "forced" to consider a closer relationship with the EU. And Starmer knows this is coming.
