Has this ever happened to a AAA game before?
I mean, it's not like developers have ever shipped a buggy, half-finished game before, hoping patches and modders would save it.

Not that I'm aware of! It does seem particularly bad. If they'd just launched on new generation consoles they probably would have been fine, but last generation ones clearly can't cope.

Another couple notable cases of the media lying about what women say. These bugged the heck out of me at the time, and indeed I checked into them in the first place because I couldn't believe these women had said anything as stupid as they were claimed to have said. Turned out, they didn't.
