Wow. I get the basic thrust of the Coca-Cola commercial, but the storyline is so incoherent that I felt baffled. The man looks so different on the oil rig than he did at the beginning that at first I didn't realize it was the same guy, so I was wondering how he got the Santa letter. For that matter, how long did the quest take that he grew a full beard, and why did he shave it off? What route was he taking to the North Pole, that first he's in a barren wasteland and then in a tropical jungle? How'd he get a motorcycle, and what happened to it? Santa drives him back to his house so fast that at first I didn't realize they'd gone anywhere, and I was wondering what the girl was doing at the North Pole. And if that's possible, why didn't the man take the same road when on his quest? It would have been a lot easier. How did the previously wet and stained letter suddenly become pristine when Santa hands it back to him? I thought it was a different letter.
Lastly, what is the point of sending this man off on this incredibly time-consuming and difficult quest when all he learns is that he ought to have gone straight home in the first place, so he'd have had a lot more time to spend with the kid which is what she wants, isn't it?

So our move to the country four years back turns out to have been ahead of the curve? :o)

UKGov is much better off without that man ever being anywhere near 10 Downing. Ever again.

I do recognise that many people would think this is an actively good thing, but the fall in city rents might well mean that I can't keep my Edinburgh flat, which would sadden me at least.

Still never moving back to the countryside! I lived in a lovely village from age 7-19, but I infinitely prefer urban living.
