Date: 2020-11-14 02:37 pm (UTC)I think the real problem here is that women aren't allowed to have leisure, not that women aren't allowed to have fun. That may explain why crafts and baking with practical uses are considered feminine activities whereas less applied arts like painting and music-making are perhaps more masculine. I completely reject the idea that embroidery is inherently less fun than pixel art, though!
Sexualizing much younger people feels like it doesn't really belong in the category with the rest of the post. It is in fact creepy, not normal, when men decorate their (digital or physical) spaces with scantily clad pictures of girls young enough to be their grand-daughters. I don't think there should be more women behaving like this, I think there should be fewer men creeping on much younger women. "Making fan-art" is a lot of different things; I would have questions about creating and sharing sexualized images of real young people for reasons other than "fun" being bad.
