I dunno, I'm an adult woman and I'm having a lot more fun now than I did as a kid. Being an adult means I really don't care if some people think my hobbies aren't cool enough; I can easily find a better social group if people around me are going to be jerks. I spend a lot of time and a fair amount of money on board games, and I'm vaguely aware that in some subcultures board games are considered childish or male-coded, but that seems about as likely in my actual life as someone criticizing me for wearing trousers. I spend a lot of time and some money on video games, including so-called "casual" video games where middle-aged women seem to be the main target audience, and games like Fortnite with mixed-age player demographics.

I think the real problem here is that women aren't allowed to have leisure, not that women aren't allowed to have fun. That may explain why crafts and baking with practical uses are considered feminine activities whereas less applied arts like painting and music-making are perhaps more masculine. I completely reject the idea that embroidery is inherently less fun than pixel art, though!

Sexualizing much younger people feels like it doesn't really belong in the category with the rest of the post. It is in fact creepy, not normal, when men decorate their (digital or physical) spaces with scantily clad pictures of girls young enough to be their grand-daughters. I don't think there should be more women behaving like this, I think there should be fewer men creeping on much younger women. "Making fan-art" is a lot of different things; I would have questions about creating and sharing sexualized images of real young people for reasons other than "fun" being bad.

This!

And I guess it also depends on one's definition of 'fun'.

I see Labour are continuing to try hard to make themselves unelectable. Ah well, I suppose they've got another four years.

"Labour suspends members for passing motion criticising Jeremy Corbyn suspension"

We apologise again for the fault in the subtitles. The people responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked, have been sacked.
