Musicbrainz is going from strength to strength. I just let it loose on my 'misc' folder - 63 tracks I'd not been able to tag before and it found all but 3 of them (which turned out to be songs I didn't recognise myself).

With a little weeding that's got the MP3 collection sorted out. I'm down do 2635 tracks. Which will probably do me for the moment...

That's pretty cool

I tried it a couple times but only got some magnificent segfaults on Linux. Maybe I should try again.

Sean did most of ours by hand. Pretty reliable, but occasionally erratically spelt :-) I correct as I find them. I have no idea how many tracks I have - I know that I just about filled my 20GB Archos player with just the stuff I wanted (leaving behind a lot of Sean's crap).

Probably the most distinctive thing about our MP3 collection is that it is all taken from CDS that we actually possess. (barring a few Korn albums that Sean acquired at a network party).

I came back this far to find this entry because I needed a song identified, and MusicBrainz Tagger did exactly what I wanted, except it doesn't support MPC so I had to rerip the song as a wav. Thanks!
