Given that the author of the article is Melanie Phillips, who usually spouts hatred in the Daily Mail, the more interesting question is: why did the Jewish Chronicle give her space in its pages?

I can't quite remember what podcast I was listening to a couple of weeks ago in which a field expert talked about evidence of US Republic Party gerrymandering or Rabble-rousing false ads or something like that, which she climaxed by asserting that Dems are just the same except not good at it.
