The "Sverige Riksbank Prize in Economics Sciences In Memory Of Alfred Nobel" is not a Nobel Prize. It was created for a multicentenary celebration of the bank's inauguration back in 1969 and despite the bank's best efforts over the past fifty years or so to turn it into a real Nobel Prize the Nobel Foundation which awards the real Prizes keeps it at arm's length. However the bank's prize is adjudicated by the Nobel Foundation and the Award is made during the Nobel Prize ceremony and this adds to the confusion.

The Nobel family, distinct from the Foundation, don't want the bank's award to be conflated with their predecessor's Prizes but careless reporting and common usage blurs the edges.

A less-kind commentator would look at the phrase "Economics Sciences" used in the prize's title and wonder why homeopathy and phrenology don't get a look-in for the regular Nobel Prizes.

Oh please spare me the whinging drivel of people who eat in restaurants and ride in subways, taxi cabs, and airplanes who whinge about people only working M-F 9-5. Those are called banker's hours for a reason.
