Maybe we can collectively invent a replacement that isn't single use plastic. You'd have to understand the actula requirements which that article captures very badly.

For instance, if a baby wipe is useful why is a piece of cloth soaked in suitable solution *not* useful? Or perhaps we need better bins? (is "flush it" really easier than "put it in the trash"? better bins needed)

Or straw, washable plastic? do we need to make them in a better size/shape? it's single use that is the biggest issue?

Manufacturers need to be working with the people with the need to get better products to market rather than simply saying 'hold the mug' when that is not allways possible (although saying to the majority 'don't use uneccessary straws' may get the country a long way into reducing use.

Poor Natalie Portman, I expect she has many, many stories of men behaving inappropriately. I have first hand experience of the assumption that friendliness is obviously actually a romantic entanglement because that's how the man feels, and it's always delightful to realise your behaviour has been completely misinterpreted, allowing for a hefty dose of self blame.

She has talked about the effect of being in Leon and being sexualised in the eyes of men from a very early age as a result. It's horrible.

I guess she is the Jodie Foster of her generation, the actress that creepy men glom on to. I hope she survives it as well as Foster has.
