Also, it's only comparing tenured and tenure-stream academics. I would be *fascinated* by a gpg analysis of other (more insecure) staff - my cynical expectation in advance would be that more women than men are in these insecure posts *and* they get paid less when comparing like-for-like experience.

1. Bezos' people have automated firing-for-(perceived)-cause.

Frightening. Because we know that other firms will license that tech and use it.

I do sort of wonder whether Amazon considers that stories like this, about how they treat their line workers, make me *vastly* less interested in considering them for programming jobs. I suspect I'm not alone in that...
